“I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with liiiiight!!” or Why Devil May Cry should never have been popular (but I’m glad it was)

Devil May Cry is an incredibly difficult game. No one is able to pick it up and immediately excel at it. If anyone tells you that he or she did just that, the person is a liar and the conversation should be over. The game has a steep learning curve. This is made all the more apparent by the first boss, a giant fire scorpion who, on occasion, can scoop up your avatar and eat him. People who continue playing beyond this are generally masochists and/or egoists who somehow believe it is brag worthy to continue playing a game after everyone else has stopped.
